#INSTAXFRIDAY WEEK ONE

I have a confession. I LOVE shooting Instax. If there’s space in my camera bag, I’ll always throw in my Instax and take some shots with it. It’s fun, it’s instant, and I like how much it reminds me of the polaroids of my childhood.

But that’s not the confession. The confession is that all those lovely photos are just languishing in a bowl on my mantelpiece. All those memories, all those places. They all end up in the bowl. It’s a pretty bowl, but still… Who has the time to scan and save and DO something with all these photos?

Well, my friends, I’ve decided enough is enough. That bowl full of memories just looks at me, and I don’t want to be that grandma who can’t name the people and places in her photos. So I’m doing something about it.

I’m starting a little #InstaxFriday here on the blog. Each Friday I’ll share a set of Instax images and hopefully tell you a little story about them too. Sound good? Excellent. Let’s get started then, shall we?

Instax Friday 01 - Joshua Tree, California

This little set was taken in Joshua Tree, California, in September of 2014. It was my first time in the North American desert, my first time seeing a Joshua tree, first time meeting a whole bunch of new faces at Phoot Camp. It was a time of chasing light, drinking beer, picking cactus prickles out of tender skin, and of very dusty toes. It was heat like nothing else I’ve ever experienced. It was catching up with old friends and making a whole bunch of new ones. Early mornings in the park watching the sun rise, and late nights watching some questionable dance moves (Henry).

Basically, it was beautiful.

    1. I couldn’t agree more! So nice to hold them in my hands, for some reason it seems to make the memories that much stronger 🙂 Adrienne x

    1. Hi Meredith, thank you so much, I’m so glad you’re enjoying the images! I totally agree, printing our images out is something we don’t tend to do now… I’m going to be trying to do a lot more of it myself this year! 🙂 Cheers, Adrienne
